chi o giving snap bids?
by: wtfSaw a sophomore girl who did not rush wearing a XO pin today. Why are they giving out snap bids?
#2by: COB vs snap bid
A snap bid is an option available to chapters that did not fill quota. Chapters may offer bids to potential new members whose preferences were not matched, meaning they would not be extended a bid by chapters they listed on their preference rankings after preference round. This process takes place before bids are distributed, and a potential new member would receive a phone call or other contact by a sorority offering her a snap bid. If she chooses to accept, the new member would participate in normal Bid Day activities. NO organization snab bidded this year.
Continuous Open Bidding, or "COB", takes place after bid day and continues until quota is met. say sorority XYZ has 2 open spots because 2 girls in spring '16 dropped. that sorority will officially enter a period of "continuous open bidding" until 2 new girls accept those 2 open spots. the sorority will reach out to girls that they think are good fits, who may have dropped recruitment entirely or not rushed at all because of other circumstances. they WILL NOT extend bids to a woman who received a bid but dropped because she did not like the sorority she got on bid day. this is because that woman who dropped after receiving a bid signed a document after preference round saying that she understands that upon preffing the sororities she did, she is agreeing to not rush for a year after no matter what happens. SEVERAL organizations participated in COB this year, so yes, it's possible that Chi O was one of those sororities
