to the phi mu who ranked everyone as "sophomore", it is VERY obvious that you are a phi mu since you ranked every sorority below yours under the same name. the stupidity amazes me.. try to be more discreet if you're going to self rank while down ranking every other sorority? you really are nothing to brag about

Im in another sorority but, a Phi Mu this past year did a simple act of kindness that I have not forgotten. I was having a terrible day and it was their random act of kindness scavenger hunt or something... Anyway she ended up making my day a 100x better. Thank you Phi Mu for your amazing panhel love

Their old reputation is what holds them down. Other than that these girls are mainly very nice, classy, involved, and with above average grades and a good sisterhood.

Their bid promising is out of control. They're like syrupy sweet to PNMS, tell them how much they can see them in their sisterhood, and then cut them after day 1. I don't understand how they can get away with it.

It's not a bid promise if they say "I can see you in our sisterhood." It's a personal opinion of that individual sister. I'm fairly certain there are strict Panhel rules that limit what exactly you can say. New girls should be instructed as to what is and what is NOT a bid promise.

They're also creepy as hell during recruitment. I went to their pref and it was like them singing these really creepy love songs to us, they were all crying, and it just made everyone really uncomfortable. And then you had to make a wish at the end, and the girl I was talking with was like "I hope your wish is my wish too." My skin was literally crawling. They just try way too hard to be like traditional Greek when the other sororities on campus are more laid back.

that's interesting because they did that my freshman year too which creeped me out so i went elsewhere and my friends in phi mu all said that they hate that about their pref. there must be some sort of national rule about that.

1. We probably shouldn't be discussing sororities rituals on a website but you brought it up so 2. Idk about phi mu since I didn't pref them but this seems identical to aephi, traditions like these are clearly nationals things, they come out of ritual handbooks. Also I know phi mu is one of the oldest sororities so if it seems like they're "trying" too hard to be traditional it's probably just because they are very traditional, as far as ritual and traditions the girls in this chapter have no control over, just like all other sororities.

There are STRICT rules from Panhel about bid promising and Phi Mu certainly abides by them. You should consider how many girls get their hopes up about getting a bid from any of the organizations and a lot of them feel upset when they aren't called back. That being said, there are organizations that seriously dirty rush and it's NOT OKAY. However, I felt that Phi Mu played fair with recruitment.

the definition of middle tier but also the definition of super sweet. yes these girls are average but they are one of the all around nicest sororities on campus. they aren't super hot or anything super great to look at but i honestly do not know a nicer group of girls and that's something to be proud of.
