ung greek life

I write this to help out misguided students planning to rush at UNG. First, Greek life at UNG is NOT like it is at bigger schools or what movies portray Greek life to be. Lumpkin County is a dry county so don't expect there to be wild parties anywhere and if so, it will be shut down within 30 min. There are no Greek houses so most Frat parties are in rundown houses or apartments. If it becomes too loud or crowded, cops will show and they are brutal plus you will be breathalized. The article written before "Sig Chi is daddy's money and PIKE is diverse etc." is spot on about the fraternities at UNG. Although you may become closer with Greek peers because if it's size, the town of Dahlonega will always hold back Greeks from getting the most they can out of the system. Anyways if you expect typical Greek life and quality people as your brothers, you will be very dissatisfied.
