The UMD is slowly but continually weeding out the loser Frats. Those that an persevere the longest and stay out of trouble will eventually rise to the top. 30 frats is way too many. Once we are down to 20, then we can work on the quality of the fraternity system instead of the playpen/pigpen we now have.

I agree. And what also needs to happen is once we get down to 20, IFC along with the Greek Life Office needs to re-work the expansion for new and re-returning frats. There needs to be more emphasis on philanthropy, leadership training, Greek Life involvement, academics, etc. so we don't have just another party/drinking club like the ones we currently have and once had.

Logic. Wouldn't it be a nice change that frats were bragging and competing about their involvement in philanthropy and campus involvement, instead who rages the hardest. I know, I need a reality check. It'll never happen

Most of them suck and couldn't even be social on their own floors freshman year. Half the frats here are completely homeless.
