There never any Greek life to begin with. You think satellite houses are normal? Everyone just parties and competes for the same houses with minimal space and then puts letters on their chest to self-validate. It's why these sororities are cool with hanging out with 30 pikes or d-chis, than a real, respected organization - because everyone owns the same real estate in essence. Greek life is so much more elsewhere and the larger, distinct chapter houses bring diversity and difference to each fraternity.
Seriously UMD Greek life is a joke and it's well known

y'all need to take some tips from the southern schools...FSU, UF, Bama all having hugely successful greek life communities

I would agree that in the Big Ten Conference both UMD and Rutgers Greek Life is list at the bottom of the barrel. NO way can they compete with the top dogs like Michigan, Purdue, Illinois, Ohio State & Indiana. It will never happen.
