joining a colony sorority

I couldn't do formal rush but gamma is doing recruitment later this month and starting a colony, what is everyone's opinions on them so far and is it harder to join colony sororities? they seem really nice but idk if i should wait until next formal rush if starting a colony is harder or if its hard to keep up socially
