why do u have to haze?

Why is hazing so important? Most nationals forbid it. Why or how does hazing make a fraternity better than others?

How? I can possibly see how it would make the pledge group closer, an us against them mentality. But how does it make the entire brotherhood closer?

Doesn't SAE now have a very strict policy against hazing? Nationally, because of lawsuits, they have difficulty obtaining liability insurance.

Sig Nu was literally founded because their founders didn't want to be hazed, so they made their own fraternity
