is it necessary to go to sorority open house?

some of my friends went but I had class during an open house the other day, will it hurt my chances?

Yes it is, you have 0% chance of getting a bid unless you go. Sororities cross reference who they're giving bids to with their open house attendance sheet. Sorry for the bad news.
