by: GDIDo people in fraternities and sororities actually care about tiers? Obviously people in higher ranked frats would likely say it matters and people in lower ranked ones would deny its relevance but do Greeks realistically judge each other by tiers?

Every frat has two types of people:
The person who cares about rankings, and the person who doesn't care about rankings. The people who care are usually around 20% of each fraternity. These kids are usually insecure, so they try to "one-up" another fraternity by insulting them/ranking themselves above other people.
Then you have the kids that don't care—the ones that only really care about their own parties. Sure there might be some fraternity rivalry, but they're not going to talk sh-t about the other one.
Insulting another fraternity is like not calling mom on mother's day—totally not frat, and petty as f-ck.
