They imposed that sanction on themselves in an effort to avoid getting put back on somo

It has nothing to do with somo. They're just extending their rush so that they have the whole year to make decisions on kids. Sounds like a smart move on their part.

They got in trouble last semester and they put that sanction on themselves as part of their "chapter improvement plan" involving improving their pledge process to get better kids etc. Obviously they would have taken one if they never got in trouble
