by: Rising sophIf I do informal recruitment in the fall and join a sorority, will I get a little in the pledge class for spring semester 2016 or will I have to wait a year to get a little?

Depends on where you end up! Some chapters will still have girls from the previous pledge class that want littles. Some sororities do it based on who wants a specific little or who would make the best big/little pair, others just assign for who "needs" a little.
