I honestly do not get these posts? U of M is a big school. Freshman year I went to Florida State, I didnt know anyone and went through rush - top 5 at Florida State - I I preffed the top 2. I had to transfer back to Maryland - my mom got sick - I re rushed here as a sophomore - top sorority here. To he honest I like both my pledge classes. Both pledge classes great group of girls. Enough w this ...Maryland greek life 2nd tier??? Why so miserable?

Seriously STOP with these negative posts. Who writes this stuff? When I'm at the bars everyone cool and chill - no egos. My house cool. What's up with this 2nd tier stuff? Have you gone to another school and rushed there? If so - why here? U of M great place to go to college...this negativity is crazy. Find a new hobby

I was in a top house at my old school and transferred here where its lower mid. Take it from me, 1. ranks really don't matter at all and nobody cares or talks about it and 2. literally girls in my lower mid sorority would without a doubt get a bid at a top tier at another school.
Just saying, ranks don't matter and not everyone prioritizes getting a bid from the so-called "top 4."

This negativity is only perpetuating the rank stigma. It's not real and the women in UMD sororities are generally very respectable and would have no problem rushing tops at other schools. I can tell you this from personal experience.

How would you know this exactly? Its outrageous and not true? I find rush at all schools....small, big, huge...all the same stressful process where girls rush, tears, get dropped? 5 houses, 16 houses or 24 houses. It's how the greek system rolls. Rush is rush. But to say people at u of m woukdnt get a bid? Egos? Do you go to maryland? I find the negative people are high, drunk, bored, bitter, not even in greek system and just want to stir the pot for kicks? Anyone happy in there house, likes it and is having fun. If your not having fun...its within you!
