Frat Rush Question

by:

Is quantity or quality better? I know some top frats like KA, Sig Chi, Lambda ect don’t get massive PCs but have quality kids that need unanimous votes but middle frats like Zeta Psi and Tep will bid everyone and their mother and get numbers

quality has always been better. having a pc of 10 great dudes is much better than a pc of 5 good dudes with 25 squids to back them up. bidding 30+ makes the frat seem weird and desperate.

you can’t assume anything about numbers

frats could have smaller new member classes because they were very selective this time around or because they had a tougher time recruiting quality guys this semester

frats might have bigger new member classes because they had a good rush with a larger amount of quality guys to choose from or because they only cared about numbers

a good example would be lambda who had some sort of probation during this semesters rush, don’t know which but that kind of stuff contributes to losing guys to other fraternities

last thing is every voting process is different and you can’t assume it gets more or less selective based on tier

yeah a lot of houses are selective, and the voting process is different at every house regardless of "tIeR" upper to bottom houses will reject rushes each rush season because of various reasons, because again every voting process is different. the only houses that would take anyone that rushes would be the newer houses like Sig Tau (Sigma Tau Gamma) and SPD (Sigma Phi Delta) and the houses that don't pretty much don't have members like Beta (Beta Theta Pi)
