If sororities recruit below 60 or even 50 they might as well get prepared to be closed by their IHQ within 2 years. If you look at Greekchat under the 2020-21 Expansion/Chartering/Closures you will see that 15 NPC sororities closed chapters due to low #'s. So far AOII and Pi Phi's are leading with 4 closures each. NOT GOOD!!!

At Umd quota for spring recruitment changes every year but it’s usually between 40-55. The total (aka max members you can have at once) at umd has been around 160 in the spring and 120 in the fall, but that changes every year too. Trust me, anyone saying a NHQ will shut a chapter down once they stop hitting those membership goals has no idea what they’re talking about. ADPi has been at 50-70% of the size of other sororities for YEARS but their NHQ is AWARDING them, not shutting them down. There are tons of reasons why a chapter is closed by their NHQ and is rarely based solely on member #, although there are some National orgs are more liberal with their use of chapter closures as a solution to their issues than others
