DG at UMD????????

They’re def not top here, more middle tier but a really good sisterhood.

My friend is in theta at miami of ohio. I'm in alpha phi here at u of m. My friend loves my friends here - she has visited a few times.

At Maryland...alpha phi/tridelt/theta - top
kd - lower top. We all hang together with the same frats.

DG is considered more middle here...out of 16 houses.

Bars are a mix of everyone.

It's still a good way to hang out and make friends. I think the dg house is a nice group of girls when I went through rush. Check it out and decide.
After the frat parties... everyone hangs out at the bars.

What I heard from her post....is DG considered top rated at Maryland? Cause she is in a top rated sorority where she is coming from... is it her type of girls in the dg house at Maryland?

I'm guessing no...dg at maryland is NOT going to be your type of house. It's very solid middle tier. Not top middle tier.

The top ranked houses are alpha phi, tridelt, theta and KD.

The girl who posted the post wanted to know if it's considered top rank. Not 1 person said it's considered top rank. Everyone said solid middle tier. If the girl didnt say she was in alpha phi...no one would comment. So many alpha phi haters on this site. Why??? She didn't put it down...said nice girls. Everyone said the same things about dg.

I quit my sorority because it was too much time and money, I honestly didn't like the house I got on bid day. So I get this girls question? If it's not the sorority you want and feel proud to be in and like the girls...its a BIG commitment. Some girls try to like their houses they get into - it just doesnt work out. That's what happened to me during rush. True tea.

DG is ranked as lower middle tier. I agree with it. Not in a mean way. All the sororities are sisterhoods.

But people party in their tiers and spend a lot of time and money. It's your social group even if your an "independent" greek person....

I would say go for it. If we're being honest, DG does better and better with their pc's every year (even last year when they didn't hit quota, they still pulled in some solid girls). Then every girl they COBed in spring and fall'20 was solid which is kind of impressive. They have a great sisterhood and are very involved on campus and with their philanthropy. I would say if you ignore the rankings, DG is arguably one of the best srats to join here. I would say they could be on the same level as axid and aoii in the next couple years if they recruit the way they did this year.

Not AOPi level ....which has some hot girls and cool girls. right below the top.

No one is knocking DG. The post focused on ranking and what type of girls are in it.

A girl in DG wouldn't have rushed Tridelt, alpha phi, theta, kd, or even axid or AOPi. Which is what she asked?

The reality is, you end up mostly in your sorority and frat tier. That's who she would be socializing with full time. After freshman year dorms - who you live with - in the house or apt off campus. You eat your meals in your sorority, monday night meeting, weekend frat parties, girl nights in your house. Thursday nights are out at the bars with girls in your sorority. So you have to like the girls in your house - be your type.

I have other friends in other sororities and 90% of my time is spent with my sorority. After you leave the freshman dorms. I mingle at the bars and talk to my other friends. But when your in a sorority - that's who you hang with socially.

She will probably check it out in the Fall herself and see if she wants to commit. She was pre gaging her options...

True - Whatever sorority you become a sister in....that's who you hang with most of the time. You eat your meals at your sorority, you live either at your sorority house or in an off campus apt with sorority sisters, you go to parties and formals and hang out at bars in groups and at tailgates with your sorority. It is your social scene. Freshman dorms we could hang out with our dorms and sorority but after that... pretty much your sorority.
