I went through "live" rush and I didn't find it superficial. You either click with who you talk too...you talk to a bunch of girls, plus you get a "vibe".... you should pick a sorority based on who you click with...even if your choosing to focus on a tier or a type... usually 3 to 4 in that grouping. You should choose by how well you click? These are the girls you will be watching tv with, studying with, eating with, living with, drinking and partying with, confiding in.... it's a lot of time with 200 girls. When you go through rush, you'll see who you click with and which houses choose you and 1 to 2 houses should be a real match.

Have you been through rush? Or maybe you didnt ask any ???s? I talked about my hobbies, my major to see who else was in it? What the girls did for fun. Growing up...in school, you make friends on connection - can you talk to them? Have fun with them? Hobbies, interests, goals in life? who sparked my interest during rush? Who did I connect too and how many girls? I liked 1 sorority but didnt choose it as my first choice because I hadn't connected "conversationwise" as well. You also notice during rush who else is picking your sororities your choosing? Do you click? It's a combo of the sorority itself and during rush who will be in your pledge class? You spend time with the other girls rushing, you see who else is interested in the same sororities. If that's superficial to you... maybe it's you?

People saying recruitment isn’t superficial are delusional. Just because you found the right fit doesn’t mean the process isn’t superficial. You yourself might not have based your decisons on tiers but there are plenty of people who do. It’s the sad reality but hopefully that changes this year.

Recruitment is extremely superficial based on what people wear and look like. With virtual recruitment houses can't just rely on reputation and look cute prancing around to win over potential members. They will actually need to have good, meaningful conversations.
