by: TerppppppHow hard is it to rush at UMD and get a top tier house? Compared to other schools? Should I be getting letters of Rec?

Best advice is to be yourself. Sounds tacky, ik, but it’s going to be a big part of your college experience, might as well feel at home. Since Greek like isn’t huge at UMD, letters of rec aren’t necessary, but being a legacy helps for certain houses. I know people in all “tiers” who are having a great time, so I wouldn’t stress too much cause it really doesn’t matter

The frats vary widely in size, the sororities normally have more than the frats. Frats probably average 15-25 in the spring where sororities are more like 40-50

Quota for each chapter was 48 last semester. Depends how many total girls rush but is usually about the same.
