Definitely Informal. It is way more relaxed. Hate to say it but formal is extremely superficial and mostly based on looks. The houses really don't get a chance to get to know you so their basing it on what they see.

also, wouldn't that be harder... I just want to be a part of greek and I don't really mind which sorority I get a bid from tbh.

It depends. Do you want to join a Sorority or just specific ones. While I do agree you may not necessarily get a bid during informal it wouldn't hurt to do informal first and if you don't get a bid then try formal.

You can increase your chances by going to as many of each of the Sororities events as you can.

Usually chapters COB in the week/two weeks after recruitment but I believe some chapters are still taking new members especially the ones far below quota

Continuous open bidding. Meaning houses continue recruiting outside if formal recruitment. I don't think any houses are participating in this right now.
