girls rushing - please read
by: UmdRushing is a rough and if you’re anything like me, you checked this website beforehand to learn about each chapter. Please let me offer you my best advice - do not let this rankings influence you, or better yet, don’t read them. As a Greek community we should be supportive of each other and not tearing each other apart based on subjective opinions of looks. These rankings destroy girls’ self esteem who get bids from chapters deemed “bottom tier” and deter girls from choosing a chapter that they might love because of reputation. The only ranking that matters is your own. Just because you get a “top tier” doesn’t guarantee you’ll love it, or that you’re worthless if you get a “bottom tier”. The system won’t change overnight but I hope this at least helps one person going through recruitment.

Agreed. You'll end up miserable in a sorority that is nothing like you if you just try to go top. But also don't let being in top or not influence your level of confidence. it's not a perfect system and it doesn't mean anyone is better or worse than eachother. Honestly UMD greek life is really tame and no one takes it that seriously

Completely agree. You have to figure out where you will feel comfortable and fit in. Don't waste your time and money trying to be something you aren't.

Completely agree that the system is not perfect and people need to not get so stressed about it. This site and these rankings are all people's opinions and if you base your decisions on what everyone else thinks you will not be happy.
