Dear PNMs,
I know you think you want a "top" house right now, maybe you even belong there! But it is foolish to think that everyone should be there. Also they RARELY do informal rush so don't just use that as your back up.
I know you think you had the best conversations there and looking back I thought I did too, but it was just because I tried my absolute best to impress them so I cared way more about the things I said.
And a lot of you coming on here complaining or disappointed need to realize that they just weren't for you. To be blunt, they just didn't want you. Our rating system is pretty thorough and it's just how things are. I shared the same blow to the ego when I rushed but I ended up in a "upper middle" tier sorority and I couldn't have been happier. If I only knew then what I know now, I wouldn't have ever gone on this website at all!
A lot of girls in sororities are friends with each other. At UMD specifically a top tier girl could literally be a bottom tier girl. It has nothing to do with who you are as a person. I'm best friends with top, middle, bottom, left, right tier girls and we are all similar and beautiful inside and out and that's great!
And for top tier girls, maybe that sorority IS for you! And that's great too!
Please just try to give the rest of Greek Life a chance. You'll see that we all social just as well, are just as involved, and all have a great sisterhood. Again, I too have felt that struggle of why you weren't top tier material so I understand how you ma overlook this but I promise you this may be the best piece of advice you ever got.

I'm truly discouraged by the comments on this site from the PNMs. I have sisters in my Sorority but I also have people I consider sisters in all of the chapters. It's extremely upsetting to see all the negative comments about people they don't even know. I hope the PNMs take the time to read your post.

The PNMs don't seem to care about sisterhood as much as ranking or who wears the most expensive clothes. Really upsetting. I really hope they figure out what it's all about.
