All of the DG sisters and people in general should be more pissed at whoever publicized the email. I doubt it was meant to be public and it shows an even more lack of character to take things to the next level. Do you really want a girl in your sorority who goes around telling the world what you talk about/what goes on in your sorority or would you rather have a girl who is pissed off that the rest of the sorority is making a mockery of themselves and her as a consequence? Honesty really is that bad eh?
Your priorities are all screwed up because im a sane person and id rather have a friend who will tell the truth to me no matter how brutally honest, than a friend who goes and tells the world all of my business.

What shows is her extreme lack of class and self control. If you have an issue and don't want the world to see it, then DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT send it out in writing for public consumption. I think maybe your priorities are screwed up if you think this rant and her threats and stupidity were okay and justifiable. And we wonder why our country is going to crap, it's because little brats like you and Rebecca Martinson are our future....lord help us all!

Look, she said some stupid, mean things. Big deal. Seriously, is this the first time a sorority girl threw a hissy fit? Frankly, I have a feeling that there was probably plenty of cattiness in the DG house and things escalated. I also don't think a 20 year old girl should be crucified on the World Wide Web over this? Seriously, what was meaner, sending out a rude email to a bunch of your sorority sisters, who probably all argue and swear every day, or posting the letter on the Internet, throwing the girl out of the sorority and holding her up for scorn to anyone with a laptop or iPhone and making it infinitely harder for her to get a job, thereby making her college degree a waste of time, money and effort? Thinking about it like that, who got hurt more - Rebecca Martinson or the catty brat who published the email (anonymously, I might add.). Give the kid a break. Did you ever say or do something stupid in college?

If your sister in real life did something offensive, you'd tell her to knock it off and perhaps be mad at her for a while. But she is your sister so you'd forgive and move on.

Aren't sorority sisters supposed to have an unbreakable bond like real family? Well, not the girls at DG! Noooo, they have an issue with Rebecca and instead of telling her to change her ways and how it offended them, they THROW HER UNDER THE BUS! Don't get me wrong, Rebecca is just as awful a person but there were better ways this could have been handled.

With sisters like that, she's better off not being associated with them any more. Evil, backstabbing, self-serving young women that have proven that their sorority chapter is a farce.

1) We can't assume anyone knows who released the email. But jumping to conclusions that is was another DG is kind of dumb if you ask me. Why would they want to bring this much negative attention to their chapter? Even if they hated Rebecca, you would know it would identify your chapter and call you out for being "fing awkward" and "fing boring." Seems a lot more likely that someone, like a boyfriend or room mate, got a hold of the email and released it.
2) HOW can anyone say that DG is being terrible for cutting ties with her?! She humiliated them, whether she intended to or not, and if she was in my chapter I would expect her to be gone. Sisterhood also means NEVER talking to each other the way she did. That was straight up member to member hazing, and yes that is a real panhellenic term. DG was in a lose lose. If they didn't cut ties, people would have complained. They did, and people are still complaining.
3) I read their Nationals statement on FB, and this wasn't a UMD chapter decision, so I think calling out the character of her sisters in this chapter (Alisa) is absolutely wrong. None of us know who they are and what they think about all of this, but based on the email I can assume they are the exact opposite of Rebecca. Judging them anonymously for trying to save their chapter and reputation is "evil, back stabbing, and self-serving." Their image is suffering enough without the masses ostracizing their every move from here on out.

I'm with you. Whomever distributed that e-mail is an absolute disgrace. So much for the principles of Sisterhood. If one of your sisters isn't going to call you out then who will? Enjoy being an awkward wallflower forever.

I've dealt with my share of people leaking private chapter information that caused problems (not to this degree), but I have to say, it's the person who leaks it who is the real traitor, and they are the one who generally has to deal with repercussions. The email was over-the-top, although hilarious, but I can't help but think it didn't happen without a lot of provocation, and I have to think that DG should have rooted out and dismissed whoever distributed it before the girl who wrote it. Whoever thought it was a good idea to post something like that about their chapter's internal problems online is probably the exact kind of person who instigates a letter like that. That girl truly betrayed their chapter far worse than a profanity laced email ever could, and has hurt DG's reputation possibly irreparably locally, and given them quite a black eye even on a national scale. That is why whoever leaked it is worse than the girl who sent it. It went from some hurt feelings to a national fiasco with one stupid decision.
