umd sorority transfer question
by: transferquestionI'm planning on transferring to UMD College Park in the fall as a first semester Junior, will it be possible for me to get a bid for a sorority or is it pretty unlikely? This will be a big factor in my decision to attend UMD so answers would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

Luckily for you both, the outgoing senior class in many chapters is a large one. Therefor, many good sororities will be taking a fall pledge class and competing for girls outside of formal spring recruitment. In this situation, I definitely think a first semester junior could get a bid this fall. I highly recommend doing it. Best of luck!

It depends what chapters you are looking at honestly. I would recommend going to a few upcoming open houses and mention that you will be a junior during fall recruitment and see what houses you like. If they like you back, your chances are high of getting a fall bid as a junior but will lower a lot if you wait for spring recruitment.

To the rising junior who is looking at going greek in the fall - That was me a year ago! I love my chapter and I'm so glad I decided to give Greek life a shot. There are a bunch of open houses coming up this week and next so it's definitely worth is to meet some women and see if you fit well with them =)
There were also a few of transfer juniors in my class so it's definitely possible for both of you to get involved!

Most sororities won't count a cousin to be a legacy connection. Mothers, sisters and grandmothers are considered legacy connections.
