The silence of the frats at UMD is deafening. Where is the condemnation and outrage of disgust over hazing?! Why this silence? Does this silence mean that you agree with hazing? That you support this behavior? Why hasn't the IFC come out publicly and deplore the actions of this fraternity? You seem to be vocal about the merits of raging and post laments and whine over the fact that UMD frats are losing their partying edge.

UMD Department of Fraternity And Sorority Life do not lose your standards…keep the Greeks under control. Greeks are unable to and incapable of policing themselves!

Penn State's Beta Theta Pi chapter was disbanded after Piazza died. The school's trustees agreed in June to seize disciplinary control over Greek fraternities and sororities, as well as to implement more stringent rules about alcohol use.

U of M please be proactive....we don't want a Penn State hazing incident!

In text messages released during the hearings, fraternity members, who did not call 911 until the morning of Feb. 3, about 12 hours after Piazza fell, according to a report on the grand jury's investigation, referred to the ceremony he underwent as an "obstacle course."

Someone allegedly texted, "When they see the video footage of the obstacle course we will be done," according to texts revealed by prosecutors during the hearing.
