Good to know that the kid that calls himself "the prophecy" cares this much about their greek life's social scene from years ago. Here's a thought: no one cares. Just enjoy the company you have around you and stop thinking about who's better than who. You hit rock bottom by taking the time and effort to voice a biased, poor, and an irrelevant opinion.

Ehh. I have looked at articles the Archives put out for Greek life's 100th anniversary, interviews from Greek alums, and of course various videos and pictures that have been leaked to Old Row and TFM. UMD Greek life died a long time ago, not just when those frats were kicked off, because we stopped raging and we also lost our sense of community, which is what being Greek is really about. People actually used to care about each other outside of Greek Week wins, getting philanthropy sponsorships, and socialing. People used to hang out with each other and want to see each other and friends in ALL different chapters, not just the ones good for your social tier. Now we're so absorbed in tiers we don't even want to meet new people, because of what hanging out with them could do for our standing. Frats are always kicked off campus. That doesn't mean much and is superficial. You want to fix Greek life, look deeper. Actually learn our history--we have to be one of the few Greek systems that have been around for over a century that don't take pride in it, don't know anything about ourselves, and don't even talk about it. We had so much power and were such a big deal on campus and now...meh. The yearbook used to basically be a registry of everything Greek life did. When that stopped,THAT is when we died. Not because we lost 3 delinquent chapters.

Just because you decided to join a frat that is now kicked off doesn't mean that Greek life doesn't exist anymore. You made your choice and we made ours. We're happy regardless of what chapter we're in. Also..."Know the truth." The truth is that your mentality is what is going to make Greek life not exist anymore. Thanks for showing us how shallow you are and for showing us what UMD's Greek life does not have to deal with anymore (thankfully)

Quit writing paragraphs

So i guess the kids coming in as freshman that would join those "top 4" would not just pledge other frats? instead of all the kids rushing pike, delta chi, tke, and fiji, they are now rushing fiji, sig chi, ka, phi delt etc.

Wrong. Back in the 2000's, the 4 best fraternities were ACTUALLY: PIKE, OZ, DChi, and TKE. FIJI only became top because they all got kicked off. Greek life definitely isn't as good as it used to be, but we'll see what happens this year and next.....
