why do all the frats hate sig chi?
by: sorority girleven though i just joined greek life last year, it seems like most frats hate sig chi. I know a lot of guys in sig chi who are really nice and cute. Their postgames were always fun.

The real truth, and this will receive a ton of negs, because it's true, is that ever since Sigma Chi came back on campus they have made meteoric a rise and enjoyed tremendous success. This seriously threatens the other frats. Sigma Chi has a large membership, their Derby Day is a great philanthropy, the guys are chill their brotherhood is strong and they throw great parties! It's popular to hate them. At this university, it really means they are doing everything right!

The real truth is that is only half the story. A lot of the hate is definitely basically jealousy. But really, they also had a very true stereotype of trying way too hard and taking greeklife way too seriously. It's probably half jealousy and half because they're actually pretty lame. Girls don't really care about that stuff though so it works for them.

Like I said before, it is popular to hate Sigma Chi. Really great group of guys... Please don't let it go to your heads like FiJi, KA or Phi Delt. <3!

is always used by other frats or sororitys when a Greek group is rising. Personally, I don't get the neg. Trying hard means working, perseverance, serious commitment, etc., or the opposite of lame, lazy, goofy, irresponsible. Any Greek group labeled 'tryhards' is a plus!

People had sig chi for the same reason that people hate AXiD... Sig Chi came on campus in 2009 in since then has become an upper middle/top tier fraternity at this school. whenever a fraternity rises that quick, people will always hate them. The same with AXiD who came on campus in 2011 and has since become a upper middle sorority
