by: okEveryone needs to stop giving the locals here such a hard time. Yes the way some were starting might not have been for the best reasons but all of those sororities aren't even on our campus! Tau Sig and APP both LEFT AOII for personally reasons and made their own organization because they still realized the value of having a sisterhood. Both organizations have spread throughout canada and have a lot more chapters in canada than some of the internationals here so chill! The other locals on our campus, Xi Delt, DPsiD and Nu Sig were all created 20+ years ago before some other the internationals were even on campus in hopes to find their own sisterhood. So please - the girls that are in these organizations chose them for the sisterhood, because they were the girls they felt connected to - hopefully the same reason you joined your organization. So please shut up about all this "club" business because 100+ years ago YOUR sorority was a local founded by some random girls who just put some letters together too.

They are clubs though, if you aren't an NPC, you're a club. If your "traditions" have only been going on for 3 years, they aren't exactly tradition. While TSP and APP left AOII for a reason, they also joined AOII for a reason - because they were a real, international sorority. They saw the value in it then and I guarantee they would've tried to create another NPC if they could.

@Well your constant need to try and convince everyone you're better (using a reason that has nothing to do with you specifically as people) is making ALL NPCs in Ottawa look insecure, stuck up, and judgemental. Why can't you just let other girls be happy in their different sisterhoods? Honestly how does someone you don't know being in a different sorority affect you personally? It doesn't. Girls like you are straight up bullies and it's not okay. Organizations like Nu Sig, Xi Delt and others make Carlton's campus unique and those differences should be celebrated rather than ridiculed. If you really believe being NPC makes you somehow better then let your organization's actions prove it rather than trying to convince everyone through insults.

Xi delt and nu sig are legit, they have a decent, respectable sisterhood. If you're in a club of 30 girls that has a total of 100 sisters including alum you don't know what sisterhood is. These new locals that keep popping up are a joke, formed for all the wrong reasons. Enjoy yourselves all you want but it's embarrassing to respectable organizations when you try to act like we're the same - we're not. You're a club. What do you think of omicron iota psi? That's the same way we look at you app.

no. not at Ottawa U where their locals were formed of rejects. I'm talking about sororities that have MERIT, some locals at ottawa u... yes. Most... no! only respectable ones Nu Sig, Xi Delt, and Theta. (i guess now KBG even though they're technically international) the rest of you should give up and attempt to join one of the sororities already at ottawa u.

You mean you didn't get a bid lol, Carleton and uottawa had the same # of internationals until like a year ago

yeah if you don't like one of the two internationals then how about you try to form a new one instead of just forming a small little local that will never share their sisterhood with more than 100 people?

I get where you're coming from but there is so much more than the history of an organization, if those are the girls you feel the sisterhood with then why shouldn't you join?
