This post is for women getting ready to go through recruitment. I'm posting this on both Chi O and ADPi's page to set the facts straight. The reviews on this site can be so misleading because a majority of the good reviews for each sorority are from members of that sorority, and a majority (if not all) of the negative reviews are coming from members of a rival sorority. So here is the actual truth about greek life at UMKC. CONTINUED IN RESPONSES....

UMKC has two "top" houses -- ADPi and Chi O. These two houses have become rivals in recent years, and honestly, it is because they are so similar when it comes to the big picture. ADPi has historically been the #1 sorority at UMKC for many years. They place a heavy emphasis on academics and most of their members are in pre-professional programs. They are extremely involved on campus and within their philanthropy, and know how to have fun. However, EVERY SORORITY HAS MEMBERS WHO DO NOT FIT THE MOLD OF THE OTHER MEMBERS. Of course there are a handful of ADPi's that may struggle in classes or have a liiiittle too much fun, but overall, ADPi is a very well-rounded, popular, successful, and diverse organization at UMKC.

ChiO is the other "top" house at UMKC. As a sorority, the quality of their members has improved over the recent years, and they are now trying VERY hard to do whatever it takes to be considered the "best" sorority at UMKC. Many of ChiO's members are great women -- smart, successful, fun, and pretty. However, their sisterhood is somewhat lacking, as pettiness, cattiness, and drama has unfortunately been an issue among members. THIS CAN HAPPEN IN ANY SORORITY THOUGH. When you get a group of 100 women together, there is bound to be drama. What separates these two houses, however, is how it is handled and how member's relationships with each other are affected. Overall, ChiO is a good house to join, but I would advise you to be cautious when making friends and trusting women within this organization.

OVERALL, getting a bid from either ChiO or ADPi is a great thing that will likely have a huge positive impact on your collegiate experience. PLEASE DON'T BASE YOUR DECISIONS ON WEBSITES AND REVIEWS. Go through recruitment and really try to get a feel for the women of each house. Where can you see yourself fitting in? What group would you want to be associated with? Which chapter's older members seem to be women you can look up to as mentor? ASK CURRENT NON-GREEK UMKC STUDENTS ABOUT EACH CHAPTER'S REPUTATION. They will have much better insight!

You can tell just by reading these comments that they were intended to bash Chi O haha I swear you ADPI's seriously crack me up. You say on your page how sincere and non petty you are and then you come on here and just talk crap... call me crazy but something doesn't match up..

Chi Omegas love to get involved, especially in such a small Greek community. Chi O's participate in 100% of other sorority/fraternity events to support their fellow Greek family. Rushing Chi Omega was the best decision of my life; I found a sisterhood of a lifetime, my bridesmaids, my support team, my role models and so much more. I feel special to be in such an amazing and welcoming sorority that encourages their members to be independent and intelligent women.

It is sad to see girls from other sororities tearing down such a beautiful sisterhood. I love my time in Chi Omega but I also have friends in other sororities. The real message to girls going through recruitment is that these rankings don't make your decision but rather your conversations with the girls in the house. You will find a home in one of these sororities and once you do I hope you see the good in the other houses instead of tearing them down.

most of the girls are really friendly towards everyone they meet, but i wouldn't rush chi o- one of the girls spray painted the driveway of my parents house because i said her friend was annoying. i guess that means she's pretty loyal tho 😂

I'm not in a sorority but it seems like some chi o girls are chill. A little air headed/hard to talk to but that's just my experience. Heard 2 chi o girls in med school got arrested soo kinda proves my point lol
