frat rush as second year

by: Question

I wasn't sure about Greeklife last year, so I didn't bother, but I'm interested in committing to it this year and wanted to know: does being a second year really hurt my chances of getting into a decent house?

You have a shot as a second year but it really depends on who you know. If you know a ton of people then you should be good. If they think you are cool they won't care what year you are in. Class level matters less for frat than sorority because sorority can only rush once (or twice if they don't rush well) per year. Frat can rush three times a year. The sororitys need the maximum years of commitment because of the limits on the # of girls they can take at rush and because they can only rush once a year.
