pref dress

Online it says no white or black for pref dresses. If I have a white or black dress I love can I wear it? I don't want to be seen as rude by the girls. How important is it to follow that recommendation?

It's not important at all. Wear whatever dress you want! It's just that sororities usually all wear either all black or all white on pref so you'll blend in with them. But it's not like they won't know who's a pnm and who's an active so it doesn't really matter. Wear it :]

I'd definitely check with your Rho Gamma though once recruitment actually starts. You wouldn't want to come across as someone who isn't willing to follow directions. Also, like "Eh" said, you will have SO many opportunities to wear white/black dresses once you actually join a house, so you'll definitely have a chance to show it off at some other event this year!

You should definitely wear a black or white dress if you really love it and look great in it! You may have plenty of opportunities to wear black or white throughout the year, but only one chance to make an impression during pref. The color of your dress is totally not a big deal anyway, plus it's a chance for you to stand out from the other PNM girls!

I honestly don't think it's a good idea you may look good in it but so does all the girls in every house wearing those colors you'd be more memorable in something that stands out and isn't what they've had to see of each other all day! But overall you will stand out more with your personality than what color your outfit is
