should i rush as a freshman or sophomore?
by: PNMI'm attending UCLA next fall but I'm worried that I'll be really distracted next year because of ongoing family issues. I really want to be in a sorority but part of me wants to wait until my second year when stuff has cooled down at home. How much harder is it for second years to get bids? Is there a lot of stigma towards non freshman rushing? Would my chances of getting into a good house be higher if I rushed as a freshman or sophomore?

just rush as a freshmen and if you don't like it, you can quit. Even though you won't be at all the events, it's okay. If you rush as a sophomore, you get lower priority and there's a (little bit) of a higher chance that you will feel more distanced from the house bc of your pledge class
