how many houses can you rush?

In general during rush week, how many frats is it typical to try out, and how much time do you have to spend at a house before you can get a bid usually?

I didn't do fall rush, but in winter I got about an hour per house that I went to. I think you get tours of all houses at first in fall so it would probably be good to make a list of five houses you like.
