rushing as a senior and staying an extra year

by: lostinla

Hey guys.. I came to UCLA as a junior transfer but I didn't get to rush because I didn't know about greek life, but its something I would love to be a part of. What are my chances of getting a bid somewhere decent if I rush this fall as a senior and perhaps also stay an extra year? Thanks

Don't lie, you have to sign a card that connects you to the school, if you lie to your future brothers they will find out via UCLA and instantly drop you

college tuition is a lot. It also kinda depends on whether or not you qualify for in-state tuition or how many classes you are taking, but it's a lot. And Greek Life is costly also. Is spending that much money just so you can make some friends (no offense to people who value friendships, I do also. But I just feel like putting that much money in and wasting a year in college really isnt worth it) really what you wanna do?

the money does not go toward just "friendships", you also gain connections in the real world, have somewhere to get away to when youre sick of dorms/your apartment, cooked meals that you dont have to swipe/pay for.. definitely worth it

We had a senior join our house this fall so it's definitely possible, even without staying an extra year

Dont lie, yes they can see what grade level you are in. there were three seniors in my pledge class, they all wished they rushed when they transferred. I definitely recommend it! :)

If you rush as a senior doesn't that limit you from most of the top houses though

No top or upper mid house will take you but if you find your fit joining will be worth it. You can meet a lot of people and do a lot in a year or two.

Is it possible to rush as a senior in 2023? I am just worried I’ll be looked down from rushing so old.
