hot take from a low-mid tier house

reading the posts about people going through recruitment right now is actually kind of funny. as someone whose house is considered in the bottom half and doesn't care enough about rankings where i can admit that, let me tell you that "bottom" houses don't want you just as much as you don't want them. personally, i'd rather be in a sorority where i like the people and they like me than just join one for the ranking and drop a year later because i hate everyone in it. (not to say every top house is bad, just saying that if the only thing you care about is rankings and not your relationships with the people in the house it's gonna end poorly no matter what) if i'm paying for my friends i'd prefer to actually like the people in my house. but don't worry, that attitude will make sure you don't get a bottom half house whether you decide to drop the entire process or not <3
