exPNM, was excited to join greeklife before this site
by: sadgirli was so excited to join a sorority and it all seemed so fun during the first day of rush, but after only getting 3 parties for round 2 i felt a little down. and then i heard all the girls crying bc they didn't get asked back to any of the "top five" and was so confused, and they all sent me here. the only 3 i was called back for were apparently the bottom tier houses, and now i've asked other nongreek girls and they've told me how those houses aren't anywhere near as fun as they seem. all the other PNMs pushed how pretty/smart/unique i seemed and that i would totally find my place, but its clear now that the stereotypes are right, greeklife is only really fun for tall extroverted skinny blonde STEM girls that all dress the same. i genuinely hope everyone that stays through gets into a house that's right for them and they have a great four years, but if you feel out of place do not feel afraid to drop out. i know continuing beyond tonight would be a mistake for me

It doesn’t sound like your non-greek friends are a reliable source, considering they’re non-greek. if you think you’re “too good” for a mid-tier house then you really ARENT sorority material. I’m sorry you didn’t get the houses you wanted back but this website is not a reliable source for how “fun” the houses are, considering most of the posts on here are from lambda guys. All sororities mix with fraternities so they are all the same amount of fun. if you vibed at the houses then you should’ve given it a shot.

once again, im sure some of the girls in these houses really do love them and have a good time but this entire process has just made me hate myself and feel like none of these girls actually like me at all. it just has felt more and more fake as we've gone farther and i spent a lot of last night crying bc it lowkey wrecked my selfesteem?
i just do not think this is for me and i'm trying to encourage more girls not to "stick it out" just bc that's what everyone pushes you to do. if this process is making you hate yourself, why would you want to stay involved
