Incoming Freshman Be Careful of Aphi

by:

Want to give a warning to incoming freshman because I think they should know what they’re getting into. I just graduated so I finally think it’s cool to come out and say this but me and all my friends rushed Aphi our freshman year and just wanted to warn incoming freshman that this house is not what you think it is. All of us ended up dropping our third year because none of us actually liked being in the house once we got to know the people and the way the house is run. It’s a bunch of girls that care a lot about social media and how they appear, hence why they have so many followers and are ruling this site as the “top house”, but not a lot of actual sisterhood or bonding actually goes on once you’re in the house. Granted yes I did meet good friends through aphi but we all bonded because of how much we hated aphi. They are also scary good at rush and coming from someone who has been on both sides, they know what they are doing. But just be careful because I’m super bummed I didn’t join any of the other 3 tops, or frankly any other Greek house, because all of our friends across Greek life really enjoy it and stayed until their senior year and we got kinda screwed over by joining Aphi. Also not sure if this is transparent going into it but our dues were significantly more expensive than any other house on the row. Just thought I should come out and say this because I remember looking at greekrank before I rushed and having aphi being listed as “top” everywhere as a factor in my mind, but trust me that any other house you will likely be better off unless you’re an influencer or someone that doesn’t rlly care about making friends or the sisterhood at all. Just thought I would share.

re: them being great at recruitment but not sisterhood, the google doc leaking aphi at michigan's tactics explains their strategy, it is disturbing and pushed at the national level. just google it and most of the articles have a link to the doc

The Pretty White Girl (PWG) is going extinct.
They are America's rarest most endangered human species.
America's smallest minority group. 😑

PWGs are @ 1 in 15 in this Spring's sorority PCs.
It was 1 in 3 ten years ago.

It is speciesism, NOT racism.

Take many pictures of them, so we can remember what they looked like... 🦄

Aphi has the highest member retention rate out of all sororities. All houses are given the same max # of PNM’s that are allowed to join, but below are the number of members that stay. If you are that jealous of top houses that you slander them on here then you shouldn’t be in a sorority. You sound bitter & mean.

Size - # of members (+/- # of spots from last term)

1. Alpha Phi - 205 (+1)
2. KKG - 183 (-1)
3. DG - 174 (+2)
4. Chi O - 171 (+2)
5. KD - 170 (-1)
6. Theta - 169 (-3)
7. Pi Phi - 158
8. GPhi - 150
9. ADPi - 92 (+1)
10. AXO - 88 (-1)
11. AGD - 47

Not gonna comment on the retention, but those numbers only show total number of members, not percentage of retention. While sororities all have the same max # of PNMs they can get as new mems, not all of them reach that #, and it also has more to do with total chapter size not just new member class. Also, you have to remember that this number doesn't just reflect drops (although a large part of change in number probably is drops, it can also account for early/late grads, inactive statuses due to finances, and a whole lot of other things).

Nobody in aphi goes on this site, and the details you mentioned dont add up to any possible person or “group of friends” in the chapter. Haters gonna hate
