Are “top tier frats” all about looks?

Incoming freshman here. I’m an athlete so I decided i want to try joining a top tier fraternity but I’m doubting it because I don’t look like most guys that are on their instagram. Does that significantly impact my chances of getting in a top frat? They are all like stereotypical popular jocks and some of them look literally like Abercrombie models. Do they choose new members based on the appearance? I heard freshman from last year had a lot of Prom Kings and I wasn’t like that in high school. Serious answers please.
