What's the deal with rankings?

Hey, I'm hoping to go to UCLA next fall if I get in next month and was interested in joining a frat. I thought I'd do some research on various sites and here and I see people posting all these ranks and going back and forth so I was curious?

What makes a frat top tier, or mid tier or etc.? What is the difference in the types of activities they do both social and philantrophic? Any input would be appreciated thanks.

you'll honestly learn a lot more about greek life from going to college and rushing than the internet, especially GR.

Don’t worry about rankings for frats and get td off this website. Rush with an open mind and find the house you like best.

sae - typical top house shaky reputation
sig chi - top house, havent heard anything bad
snu / sig ep - mid top house pretty standard
taxi/lambda - fringe lower rep but still aight
