How important is location for rush?

I’m an incoming freshman and I am really interested in joining a fraternity. Unfortunately, I will be living out of state for at least the first months of the quarter. Will this impact my chances of joining a frat? I’ve seen that some are holding in-person rush, and I’ve already crossed those frats of my list. Any input would be welcomed.

there will be rush in winter and spring as well if you are not here. some houses are also doing zoom rush or having you fill out forms in their instagram bios to contact you.
