fraternity tailgates and rush

Hey so I’m an incoming freshman and I went to the first game today and saw a tailgate with a bunch of guys from sigep, Beta, Phi psi, Zbt, and lambda and hung out with them. They seemed to all vibe with me and I made sure to talk to all of them. Does that mean I have a good chance of getting a bid?

I’m a freshman too who wants to rush but my buddies and I were kind of intimidated to go over and chill. It looked fun but we didn’t go over so you’re doing better than us.

Yeah, meeting guys before rush and making a good impression is a great way to improve your chances of a bid. All those houses (besides maybe phi psi) are pretty selective, so this is a great start.

A lot of those houses have guys who hang with each other and are all pretty tough to get bids from and usually have the largest pledge classes. Try and keep going to stuff like that including summer parties. If you got their number you should try and keep in touch.
