Depends on the frat. Top frats (Sig Chi, ZBT, Zig Ep, SAE) will barely have any transfers or anyone who isn't a freshman especially Sig Chi. So,if you care about rushing any of those frats then yeah, you'll have an extreme disadvantage.

But its still possible for a transfer student to get into sigep, ZBT, or SAE tho. Right?

Of course there is always a chance for a sophomore or junior to end up in a top house. We aren’t going to completely disqualify you if we know that you are a perfect fit for our frat. Just recognize that it’s uncommon because us guys in top houses really take logistics into consideration since we want our future members to spent the most time that they possibly can at our frat. Don’t disqualify yourself and just make a really good first impression. Keep in mind greek life here is not limited to 4 houses, there are plenty of other houses were you might fit in better. Just keep this advice in mind next time your rushing.

That’s literally just saying that he should be happy with being in a middle frat since he’s not gonna get a bid as a transfer

Did not say that. All I said it’’s unlikly that he’ll get a BID but there have always been exceptions to the rule.

Let’s face it, your probably gonna have to be a 6’2 shredded potential fratstar named Thad who oozes charisma if you wanna get into Sigma Chi or SAE as a transfer (basically your not getting in). It could be possible that you could get in ZBT or SigEp as a sophomore or junior so I would consider rushing them. But most likely your gonna end up in Frats like Sigma Nu or Beta or other middle tier frats like that.
