tips for rushing in the fall (fraternity)?

Wear proper clothing. You can look it up. First impressions are extremely important. It's important to talk to as many brothers as possible but you should really connect with a few of them. These are my personal tips as someone who went through the process last fall. P.S. If you do get multiple bids, this is how I personally decided and how I would advise you should too if it happens. The rankings on here change every year so please keep them with a grain of salt. I decided based on how well I fit with the fraternity (don't call it a frat during rush) and the house. If the fraternity has a house, its a bonus since that means they are involved a lot more with sororities and do more events in general such as philanthropy, parties, etc. The quality of the house matters a bit too but for me, I just wanted a house that looked clean. Hope you come out to rush!

Go to every house on the row and talk to a couple of guys at each before moving on. If you base your rush on what you hear are the good houses on greekrank you run the risk of ending up in a house that you don't actually like after a couple of weeks pledging. Keep in mind that if you join a fraternity, you are going to have to spend a lot of time around the brothers, so you're shooting yourself in the foot if you misrepresent yourself just to get a bid.

My tip would be don't hesitate to leave somewhere you aren't vibing with the bros. And don't buy into the whole tiers thing. Personally I think joining a frat with a house is important, and any mid tier house and upwards will have good involvement and sorority relations. Go where you feel like you belong, and do be anyone besides yorself because you don't want to get a bid because you put on a fake persona.

I don’t recommend going to all of them. You won’t have enough time
Make a short list of houses and focus on those
