real sorority reputations/sterotypes

This year I rushed as a freshman and ended up dropping before receiving a bid. The rush process is difficult and hard to get a feel of how each house actually is so I'm posting this to hopefully be as helpful as I can for future PNMs. (Note: Of course this is going to be bias based on what/who I know, but I try to be as transparent as possible).

TOP:
ALPHA PHI-#1 simply for their pledge class (but usually #1 is between APhi and Kappa), beautiful group of girls, killed rush, but known for being cliquey and not a great sisterhood, usually has to do COB
KAPPA-Decent pledge class, took more of the "baddie" type, not as well-liked during rush because of their reputation for being mean and the top house, but the majority of KKG is nicer than you'd expect
THETA-Depend on their reputation to be liked during rush, super nice and chill girls, picked beachy, blonde, California girls as always, not a lot of diversity but always a good house
DG-Amazing pledge class, very social, the most diversity out of the top 4 houses, on the rise, the most likely house to intermingle with all other houses

UPPER MID:
CHI O-One of the most (if not the most) loved houses during rush, down-to-earth girls, known for being "chill", the least like a typical sorority, but doesn't go out much
G PHI-One of the best pledge classes in years, known for having the highest GPA on the row and being "classier", best mix of girls out of the mid tier but also makes this hard to really judge the house as a whole
PI PHI-For having been the top of the upper mid for years, they were not noticeably well-liked during rush, still a solid house, have a reputation for partying and being wild but that's not something I necessarily agree with

LOWER MID:
ADPI-Well-liked during rush but had an interesting pledge class, probably the best sisterhood out of all houses, sweet and down-to-earth girls but do not do many events or go out
KD-Also did well in rush, known for being the sportier girls, do quite a few events but not exactly with "top" frats

BOTTOM:
AXO, AGD-The two are mostly interchangeable. Really sweet girls but not desired houses during rush unless someone makes a real personal connection. Not usually social.


Bottom Line: If you love a house, rush it. Do not depend on rankings and reputations to determine the type of girls you will be with for four years. Go where and with who you fit, and you will be happy.
