winter rush questions
by: FilthyGDI
I'll be rushing for a fraternity in the winter but I haven't really gotten to know guys in frats this fall quarter (my dorm is socially dead). Are winter pledge classes already somewhat pre-decided before winter recruitment, considering pledge classes are much smaller? Or should I just not worry about that and focus on where I fit in/can be myself?
Don't want to waste time at a house I'd have such a small chance of joining during the short week of formal recruitment. I went to fall rush for two days but decided to wait a quarter to focus on grades/not getting pulled back home by the rents(from out of state), so I do have an idea of which houses I want to go to, just don't know people in them. I really regret not fully rushing in the fall but realistically wouldn't have kept up grades with pledging. Any advice would help, thanks.

My house's winter rush is pre-decided to an extent. We basically already have bids to give who dropped during fall for financial or familial reasons, or guys who we told to come out for winter since we knew they would be too busy with varsity sports to actually go through pledging. We also have guys who have a much higher chance of getting bids due to recommendations from the fall pledge class/brothers. However, there definitely are some spots for kids who come out and are cool without any prior connections. Come out, have fun, and you'll end up where you should be.

Thanks, people talk about winter rush being easier than fall rush because there's less rushees overall, but the ratio of rushees to bids has to be bigger for winter.
