frat rush v seat rush

by: Transfer

It seems like sororities are more welcoming to transfers. Why is that? Is it really harder to get a bid at a fraternity as a sophomore than it is to get one at a sorority?

If you're transferring, join a sorority. It's easier.

But seriously just rush and find out. There's 20+ fraternities and no rules against accepting transfers. The transfer experience with rushing is that you might find yourself older and it harder to connect with your pledge class, and you might have to be a little more sociable because some houses are less interested in taking in and investing in someone who will be there not as long and therefore pay less dues.

Having said that there are transfers in all the top houses. I know this year both sae and sigma chi took transfer pledges so don’t count yourself out.

Lambda Chi took lots of transfers and all of my brothers told me we're a top house. Or was that top of the bottom tier? Anyway, I can't remember but you should totally rush if you're a transfer.
