post rush outcome 2017

I rushed and dropped because I didn't get the houses I wanted. I am going to try again next year. Honestly, I had no idea what I was doing, and had no guidance about the sorority recruitment process.

All of the PNMs talk, no matter how much they are warned against it. And it definitely gets in your head what other girls think. The girls I talked to seemed most into Alpha Phi and DG. That's just the truth. Kappa was supposed to be a big deal, but a lot of girls didn't seem to like them that much and were looking for other options. There wasn't a lot of hype over Theta. I just don't think they connected or stood out enough.

I think everyone liked Chi-O, Pi-Phi, and Gamma Phi, but they were not hoping to end up with these houses. I think most girls that got into these houses tried to get excited and hope for the best.

I ended up with AD Pi and Gamma Phi at the end, and honestly, I could not see myself in either of these houses. It's not that there's anything wrong with them, I just wasn't ready to commit and decided to wait and try again next year.

I really liked DG. They were good looking, but didn't seem to take themselves too seriously. They were confident and seemed like accomplished girls. I was really mad though, because one of the members really made me think I was going to end up there, and then I got dropped after house tours.

I also had Kappa until the day of pref. I would have been super happy to get a bid there, but I just ended up crushed on pref morning.

Rush sucks, but I do think I've learned a lot and hopefully it goes better next year.
