what is the transfer quota for sororitys?
by: RushigI heard that sororitys at ucla have a quota for transfers and upperclassmen. Is this true? And if so, about how many girls do they need to reach their quota?

There is a big misconception about this transfer quota thing.
Let me explain it. Every house has an overall quota they can take. Transfers do not count in this quota they have a separate transfer quota. This transfer quota is set by Panhellenic and typically it's a small number. HOWEVER the sororities ARE NOT obligated to meet the transfer quota and most choose not to fill it because the selection of junior transfers isn't as "qualified" as the freshmen. Top houses will usually take 1-3 transfers and decide not to fill the "transfer quota". Bottom houses usually do take the fill transfer quota to make up for usually not being able to fill up the freshmen quota. This is why you see so many transfers and sophomores get bids at houses like AGD and AXO

BasicallyThe odds aren't in your favor if you're not a freshman. People need to realize that and quit crying and then talking badly about sororities when they get cut in early rounds. You've been warned you're better off not going through it as an upperclassmen
After bid day all those salty upperclassmen that get dropped come complain here and drag the greek community but that's not fair you were warned !!!

Basically if they don't think you "fit in" or aren't what they are looking for they won't take you because they don't have to fill this transfer quota.
