by: TruthbombI find it funny how KAPPA says they're all about their literacy philanthropy helping young girls achieve high reading levels. They post pics of this on their pages with these inner city minority girls but once these girls reach college age they won't even take a second look at them to ask them to join their sorority. They deny them and turn them down with such disdain. Fake hypocrites

I only see photos of the SAME FIVE BLONDE GIRLS. Not a philanthropy photo in sight. Don't see then around much at all.

I'm tired of the excuse that "not many minority girls rush"
Gtfoh with that. Enough of them do and that is not proportionally represented in the "top houses" actually it's really only a KAPPA and theta problem.
DG does a good job of having a great mix of girls
As do the rest of the houses. No excuses
Because it's not about having a token black person. That doesn't give you any credit, if that Uncle Tom would actually do something with that power to help other girls like her then that would be commendable. I'm tired of this I'm speaking out because nobody else will!

A lot fun minority/inner city girls rush they just happen to be cut from the process. This is such a dumb excuse for not having any in your house.
Don't tell me not enough rush there were over 1,000 pnm': this year they were not all white so don't use that as an excuse for you 99% white recruitment class
To the original poster I'm making my voice heard too ! I'm with you I went through rush and my rush group was at least half minority and we found that all of us were left with only axo and AGD as our last two houses by day 3 Coincidence ? I think not.
And I'm sure it's no shock we all got cut from kappa after the first day. Not a surprise. This was my personal experience from rushing so don't attack my views internet trolls.

I didn't want to say anything because people automatically assume you're bitter of the rush outcome but I dropped after day 1 so I don't care. When I was at KKG the first girl to sit and talk with me at the table told me "you do know there's also Latina sororities for you guys to join" and the next two girls that came to the table to talk to me were really offputting and I could tell they didn't care to talk or find out more about me. Almost as if they had been instructed to disregard me.

I thought the same I thought it was a more liberal campus which is why I chose to rush. Some of the top houses here hold on to that southern mindset of exclusionary principles.

I'm a fifth year but this reminded me of my freshman year roommates experience and it made me sad that nothing has changed since then.
Long story short she dropped after their mom's day event when right before the event they called her to the house to tell her it would be best of she and her mom skipped the event because her mom didn't speak English and it might be uncomfortable for her.
She came back to the room crying and didn't know what to tell her mom she dropped immediately the following Monday.
It was really sad and reading this made me heart heavy all over again. I can't believe this is still going on and the school does nothing about it

You miss the point the original poster is trying to make. And Btw whoever wrote kappa c-word is someone else I don't think it was the original poster just some troll.
Anyway the point is they need to be more inclusive not just them many of the other top houses. You know which ones. Things need to change it's sad that they conduct themselves this way and exclude so many girls. I understand "why would you want to join them then if they don't want you"
I get that I don't want to join them but they need to change so future minority girls won't have to deal with this blatant racism. They may still want to join they probably have hope that things here in liberal ucla arent like in the south and that they have a chance. Let's not kill their hope in humanity like it's been shot down for so many of us who have already gone through rush.
That's the damn point ! Change progress inclusion!
