by: <3I didn't go through rush that just happened, because I wanted to get settle into college. But I really regret not going through. I have a learning difference/disability , so my grades are very up and down. I really want to be in a sorority, but I'm afraid I will have to disclose my GPA and my learning situation. Will sororities automatically count me out because of my situation or GPA? Any real advice would be helpful.

Many of those who go through rush have overstated their GPA's because they know that the sororities have no way of verifying grades of anyone who is not yet a member. Most sororities will not consider anyone for membership unless their "stated" GPA is at least a 3.7 from high school or a 3.0 for college courses.

I would not tell them about a learning disability. Unfortunately, it might make you stand out in a negative way. I agree with the other people....you do not have to be honest about your GPA when you are going through recruitment. Go ahead and pump it up because they will have no way of verifying it.

This is true -- a lot of girls going through rush have not been honest about their GPA. Go ahead and inflate your GPA and no one will be the wiser. The sororities have no way of checking the GPAs of anyone who is not a member. As for your learning disability, if it were me, I would NOT disclose it during rush.
