rushing as a junior
by: sororityrusherIm from out of state and going to be attending CSUF next fall. I want to rush a sorority but im scared i wont get a bid because of my age. is this a problem here? can i still be in a sorority as a super senior? since i would be in a sorority for 3 years? also can i live in the house when i first get initiated as a junior?

A lot of sororities give bids to juniors, AXO & Gphi for sure do. My sorority has 23 and 24 year old. You can be in a sorority for up to 4 years (5 years if granted special status). As long as you aren’t going over 4 years, then it doesn’t matter if you are a super senior. Sororities usually have house girls already in the fall, so you would have to wait till the end of fall to apply to live in the house for spring semester. Keep in my usually people with positions and who live really far away get first priority. So try to run for a position to get a guarantee spot in the house.

You can definitely get a bid anywhere. ADPi usually gets a mix of girls, between first years and fourth years. I don’t know about Gphi but for sure AXO too (your chances are pretty higher if you know someone.) For sure Delta Zeta, and Sigma Kappa as well. So there ya go, most sororities dont see age as super important.
HOWEVER, when you do go through recruitment, always try to look your best. They say looks dont matter but that’s a lie, looks definitely matter. Especially during rush. And try to make yourself interesting without coming off fake. Just be yourself but really hype up your best qualities. Good luck!
