rerushing experience
by: advice pleaseI dropped last year after bid day because it didn’t feel right for me to be in that sorority. I’m planning on rushing again this year but am I just wasting my time to end up in the same place or will I actually see different houses inviting me back? I can’t tell if I was just unlucky and had a mediocre conversation with a member of my actual favorite house and it caused me to get dropped, or I truly don’t fit in with them. If anyone who’s been through this or knows someone with the same experience can let me know how it turned out for them, it would be greatly appreciated!

There are girls who go through 2 and 3 times to try and get a specific house. Kinda a bummer for those other chapters who will have to invest time in you when you're not even going to give them a chance. But in terms of getting a different house, if your grades are better this year, that'll help. But no guarantees. If you really want to be a part of that one chapter and dont know anyone, you might want to meet some women who can vouch for you before recruitment.
Oh and please be honest with chapters that you won't consider trying out, don't fake it and take the bid of someone who might actually want to be there.
If you do get a bid from another house that wasn't your "favorite", at least go to a sisterhood thing, meet the other new girls, etc after bid day. Everyone's exhausted after recruitment so give them a chance. Sorority life is what YOU make it no matter what house you're at.

I did this and another girl I know too. You won’t get invited or get a bid back to the house you already dropped. Which is fine cause you don’t want to be there anyways. Another girl I know got a bid from AXO Fall 2016 and dropped immediately, rushed again and got Gphi and she LOVES gphi. It definitely depends on who you talk to during rush. The system doesn’t work. Trust me! Don’t waste your money or your time on a house YOU dont want. Re-rush :)

I rushed two years in a row and got the same house twice, I ended up giving it a chance and I’m so grateful I did. I truly went in with an open heart and found an amazing home with sisters who I love and care about and will always be there for me. Trust the process and go in with an open mind and heart.

You’ll most likely NOT get invited to the same houses again. Why would they bring you back in if you already dropped them after bid day? It’s a number game. As long as your ranked towards the top of the list for the houses you want and ranked towards bottom of the list for the houses you don’t want them you’ll be fine. Wanna get dropped by the houses you don’t like? Just act awkward and un-interesting. Don’t be rude tho, cause then you could get dropped from rush as a whole. Be nice just sound like a loser.

just piggy-backing on the original question: does anyone know if the previous houses don’t invite you back ONLY if you dropped after bid day or does this also include dropping after the second day? just wondering how that would work if you got invited back to 4 for second day but didn’t want any of them

My bad, I didn’t mean to make it seem like I barely gave them a chance! I just meant that all the Rho Gammas talked about it feeling like their second home and even about a week that I gave it, it didn’t feel like I had that connection at all. But ty for your input!
